I've been thinking about, talking about and planning this for ages.
As usual, thanks to Gator for coming along.
When we got to the top, we found we weren't alone! Dave from daveswildcamping.com was already setting up camp. (He's famous!) Thanks to Dave, for sharing the wisdom and tales.
So, with as much kit, food and booze as we could carry we rode pushed up Pen-Y-Ghent.

But first..... Mixed grill and a few pints:

So there it is. So close you can touch it:

Gator before he started pushing:

And he's off:

Half way up:

At the top: time to set up camp...

And relax those aching muscles:

Sunset time:

Clouds start rolling into the valley:

Now its time for food, drink and chat around the camp fire:

Stars were out:

And then sleep.....
Wake up to this...... A cloud inversion:

Then time for the decent... Through the clouds:

2 hours up - 20 minutes down ;D ;D ;D ;D
Thanks again to Gator and Dave. One of the best nights I've have had in a while and probably the best camping experience I've ever had.

Excellent jollyboys adventure - really was lots of fun Thanks to Suggy for continuing with the idea, hatched many years ago and for driving. For our first attempt, not bad at all, it can only get better with the knowledge. Big thanks to the famous Dave of Daves Wild Camping - for the entertaining stories of wildness and steak So to my pictures Can't be that hard, it's only that big We did ride a fair bit - as long as it didn't go up The locals - half way up the bit we should not have bikes on Made it - woohoo - break out the lashings of beverage and bombay mix Camp Very camp Sunset Morning Famous Dave Going DownHill One for the memory bank

Nice photos Gator mate.
I recon next wild camp will be next to a lake or other scenic feature.
"Its all about the look" - Or in this case "its all about the view"

Not sure. Hopefully do another before the end of summer. Unfortunately it will probably be a weekday night again due to the legality of it all and how busy these places are on a weekend. It not easy sneaking the bikes past the guards Suggestions for next location welcome
